When Dreams and Reality are Connected in "Inception"
Some say that dreams can take people beyond multi-dimensional boundaries. Whether it's looking at the past, the future, in fact, another world. There are also those who believe that dreams have their own meanings. Like a dream in a dog chase, bitten by a snake, and others. But, in this movie by Christopher Nolan, we will see how dreams are a psychological experience of the subconscious that is able to change a person.
Naturally, the concept of dreams and reality will perplex the audience of this film at first. The reason for this is that Christopher Nolan, as a director, does not include a "bumper" scene that makes viewers realize the dream and the reality. Being in a dream world, controlling, creating a life around as you wish does look so fantastic and fun. But The Nolans also seem to convey the implicit message in their film which is how one cannot be trapped in a dreamy dream world, offering a comfort zone that suits our own will.
Dom's (Leonardo DiCaprio) ability to create his own world in a dream adversely affects Mal (Marion Cotillard), whom he once brought to build such a beautiful dream. Dom's wife seems obsessed with continuing to live in all the dreamlands she craves and considers that the virtual world is the real reality.
Then, there is also the concept of 'kick'. Where, kick is a kind of code for a person to wake up from his dream. In this movie, people who are asleep are awakened to the sound of music or thrown into the bathtub. Who has ever been awakened by the way his face was soaked by water? Yes, in this movie, these methods are one of the methods to awaken people from their dreams.
The concept of how we can organize dreams or get into other people's dreams by means of practicing them first is also as if it is very likely to happen. One more exciting element is, how Dom needs an architect to build the infrastructure from the dream they are about to enter. In terms of box office, Inception managed to achieve success by grossing a total of 825 million USD more worldwide. Christopher Nolan's success succeeded in making Inception the film with the 4th biggest profit in 2010 behind Toy Story 3, Alice in Wonderland, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. Inception is very recommended and worth every second to kill the time.
