"Dark" is The Most Complicated Series in Netflix, But It's Worth Every Second

Netflix series entitled Dark is the most complex show that has ever exist. While this begins as a "find the missing kid lost in time" story, it quickly evolves into much, much more. This series carries the theme of Sci-fi and time travel. Nevertheless, what makes Dark being an iconic and unique series? 

33 Years Cycle

Since the first season, all conflicts in Dark have been depicted in 33-year cycles. Mads Nielsen who disappeared on October 9, 1986, followed by Mikkel Nielsen who disappeared on November 4, 2019 was just the beginning. Everything happens in 33-year cycles, starting in 1920 when Noah (young and adult) helps Adam build a tunnel in a cave in Winden that will later become a time passage connecting time periods at 33-year intervals.

So far, the question is, why 33 years? Well, to answer this question, the number 33 years is actually not a random number that was created suddenly. This cycle can only align every 33 years and, in Dark, this triggered a wormhole in the cave and opened a crack that allowed time travel in 33-year intervals to occur.

Triqueta Symbol

In addition to the 33-year interval, Dark also has the triquetra symbol that is the emblem of Sic Mundus. This symbol is one line that is interconnected and forms three braids. This symbol signifies a bond that never breaks, keeps repeating, and is intertwined, like the fate that Jonas, Martha, and the other residents of Winden must continue to live in the cycle. 

The triquetra also symbolizes the past, present, and future that are related and influence each other (33-year intervals). Moreover, the triquetra also has the meaning of three worlds.

Excellent Casting and Confusing Family Trees

There are only 4 family in this series, but the best part is they are connected to each other's. The storyline is amazing because many unexpected plots in every episode and it will give goosebumps. Furthermore, the cast selection is also amazing because their face is similar from young to adult since there are 3 timelines in Dark, and it's kinda confusing since they're literally have the same face.  However, don't be confused with the family because this family tree will be your clue and the ticket to understand the timelines, also it will help to remember the family tree in the Dark series.
