CELEBRATING VALENTINE'S DAY WITH "TITANIC"
To celebrate Valentine's Day, as well as the 25th anniversary of Titanic, Paramount Pictures re-released Titanic Remastered 2023 in theaters. Titanic is currently the third highest grossing movie in the world. This movie will return in 4K 3D HDR (High Dynamic Range) version.
The conversion process begins with a native 4K digital master scan of the original 35mm negative, which eliminates all visual flaws. The filmmakers are only interested in that.
"In my opinion, if you watch the master in 2D, it still looks more amazing than the one released in 1997," Cameron said.
Prior to its upcoming 4K remaster, a 3D version of Titanic was released in theaters in 2012 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the original ship's sinking. Titanic became the second movie to earn more than $2 billion at the box office, following James Cameron's Avatar in 2009. In 2017, the movie was re-released in theaters to commemorate its 20th anniversary.
Furthermore, the 1997 movie received 11 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Song for Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On."
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, Titanic provides an action-packed epic romantic story set against the tragic premiere voyage of the "unsinkable" Titanic, which in those days was the largest moving object ever made. The tragic story of the two main characters Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet) makes Titanic an iconic film for generations.
The movie remastered will re-released in February 2023, for a limited time.
